Annual Look Beyond Addiction Awareness Walk

The fifth  annual Look Beyond Addiction Walk was held at the Winspear Center in Sidney again this year. We are thankful to all that attended and offered so much help and  encouragement.We are already  to make plans for the 6th year walk. We have learned  so many things each year, and would like your thoughts  so we can take  your comments and suggestions into account as we plan ahead.Thank you in advance to all that can help provide print materials and your time and help to spread the word of this very important work.

Let's continue to walk as a family together to show there is a healthier and happier way to enjoy life and friendship.   IT MATTERS!  YOU MATTER!

Registration  at 11:am Then a short program.

The Walk begins at 12 noon. 

A portion of the proceeds  raised this year will go to help support the FOUNDATION HOUSE.

Note:  On behalf of Look Beyond Addiction Awareness Walk in 2012  we will be making a donation to the Cool Aid Society to help benefit  their Program.

Registration fee  $5.00 each, or  $10.00 per family  (This is to help raise funds to cover expenses and  help further the aims of the Non Profit Foundation)

Once again, we are so thankful for all the help and support we had for the 3rd Annual Look Beyond Addiction Walk. Our hearts are touched by the time and work and talent you all have given to this project. We want to let you know you are definitely making a difference to lives, and although we may not have direct contact with those that have been touched by the show of support and understanding, they are out there, and we know they need hope for recovery. This challenge we have taken on together is huge, but we have taken one more step in the process. There are so many families hurt by addiction, and we must bring out understanding of what is involved in the addiction process, and why some are so vulnerable to addiction. With your help, we together will educate, and give hope to so many that need it.There is so much involved in this illness that has to be acknowledged and your taking time out of your lives to show support warms our hearts and gives us strength to do even more to get  our message out there. Those that have joined us and taken time out of their busy lives to show they care are much appreciated.

We need you and love your support !!

The 2nd Annual Look Beyond Addiction Awareness Walk was held on Saturday, May 1st, 2010 and we would like to thank everyone who participated and shared in the first steps toward making a difference in our community.  It is only the beginning of a long journey together.

We are very pleased with the enthusiasm and dedication shown and look forward to steady growth in the years to come. We ask everyone in our brave community to share their experiences with their friends and families, and unite together at the Look Beyond Addiction Awareness Walk every year to show others they are not alone. Together, we can make a difference.

Special Note: To those who have already suffered the loss of loved ones through drug addiction - we know the pain and heartbreak of loss. Please help us build the Wall of Rememberance. We believe that by sharing our tragic stories of addiction, it can be a source of strength and awareness to those who may be tempted to try 'just once'. We desperately need those stories and photos, if possible, to help demonstrate the reality and risks associated with using narcotics. As we respect your privacy, names will only be used with your permission. With your help, we may help those struggling with addiction, or those considering using, become aware of the potential outcome associated with using drugs. Each year we will choose a special story or experience of someone who may now be battling addiction, or has suffered the loss of a loved one, to release the "Doves of Hope" at the Look Beyond Addiction Annual Awareness Walk.

To all of you that are living in recovery, and those whom are directing their energies toward helping others with love and understanding, we applaud you! We appreciate your stories and participation - together we offer hope and insight to others. You Matter. They Matter. Today Matters.
